That said, I actually got a lot done today. (and I got to wear one of the new girly-dresses I made)

Had testing and paperwork at a temp agency. I'm not really looking to temp much - If I work anything less than 3 days/week I actually end up losing money vs. unemployment, and it eats up potential interview time. That said, I'm taking a trade show reg job at McCormick Place from the 24th to the 28th. Only $10/hour, but I'm so bloody bored that I decided to take it anyway. And I'll still have a day off before we have to head out to OKRF.

Though I hate the Qwiz testing package, I tested at 96% on Word, 94% on Excel, and 84% on PowerPoint. (Go me!) Only got 68% on Access, but considering that a LOT of the questions were about actually setting up databases rather than just using them, it wasn't too bad. And typing was down to 54wpm rather than my usual 56, but that's close enough.

Had a coupon for a free 10-minute 'tune-up' at Ultimate Backrub. Mmmmmm. Some of those shiatsu points really hurt, especially between my shoulderblades. (That's where the curve of my scoliosis is, so that area is usually pretty messed up. My right shoulderblade actually sticks out about 1/2" further than my left, and I am always tilting my head to the side to compensate.) But I managed to breathe through it and it did me a lot of good. I think my shoulders are a good 2" lower then they were when I went in, and I KNOW I am breathing more easily.

Then a small law firm had called me this morning to see if I could come in tomorrow for paperwork and an interview. Since I was going to be in the Loop anyway I asked if I could come in today. That seemed to impress her, and she liked my resume, but we all know there are a LOT of qualified people out there looking for work.

Rob is still working insane hours - 8 to 10 hour days. Luckily the note he got from his Dr. has him on light duty (checking IDs a the door rather than lifting and repairing 300-lb carts). He's finished the antibiotics for the kidney infection, and starts the ones for the ulcer today. That is in addition to the liver meds (and the resulting limited diet) and the anemia supplements. But he's still working 48-hour weeks! If he doesn't get one whole day off to rest within the next week, I'm just gonna go blow up WhirlyBall. Really - no one will miss the place..... Haven't seen him since last Tuesday, and the only time we can get together this week is from after my rehearsal tomorrow night until he goes to work at 5:30 on Friday. I am sublimating my worry and fuss about his health by baking - his diet recommends lots of whole-grain complex carbs, so it's homemade bread time!

Still a bit short of cash, so skipping dinner & hanging out tonight. Must save pennies for CTA fare. (and bread flour)
