I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE BASEBALL GAME!!

Rob just called and said he had been thinking and he could tell how much I didn't want to go to the game on Friday, so he is going to call his brother and tell him to sell the ticket. Turns out he had told brother than I probably wouldn't be interested in going, but brother bought ticket anyway.

He is working Sunday at Bristol, so he is going to do the family thing on Friday, spend Saturday with me, and do faire on Sunday.

It was really the combination of setting and wanting to impress the family that was doing me in. One major stress at a time, please.

So a little less life-suckage at the moment. I hope to get major cleaning and mending done today, so I can start the commission work for eacole72 and tarsa tomorrow.

Perhaps the next time you can suggest a better setting for meeting the 'rents.

Yeah - it's hard enough making small talk with people you want to impress, but to do it for 4 hours in a setting you neither know nor care anything about? That was scary.

You know...considering that you want to keep this one around...it might not be a bad idea to start considering settings that you would feel comfortable in. Your much more likely to be less stressed in a familiar or comfortable setting than in one you don't like. Your choice of setting will at least equalize the situation, if not give you a slight advantage.

I have - BBQ at his new place (show off house and girlfriend), dinner at a casual restaurant, street or community festival.
