Something fishy

Well hopefully several things, as today is Fisherman's Wharf, Sea Lions, the Maritime museum and Alcatraz.

Am once again at the Visitor's center, to check my messages, tele-serve my unemployment for the week, and make this entry.

(BTW - babbling like an overstimulated toddler involves making even less sense than usual! And the redwoods smell green/cool/wet/piner/leaf etc)

People out here actually yield for pedestrians! I commented on this to someone on the bus and they said "Well, they have the right of way". I replied that that didn't mean they would actually DO it. They certainly don't in Chicago.

Hang in there folks - I fly back on Saturday night, get in late, sleep in Sunday, then begin wading thru all your messages and writing this up. I certainly "have my adventure hat on" as Capi puts it.

Ahhh...^_~

That's kind of what I meant by "Green." A combination of all of the growing things -- different species of trees and bushes, assorted plants and flowers, moisture, and the clarity of the air itself. I remember trying to vainly sort all of sensory input and locking-up at around 20 or so different trees, plants, and flowers. Something to be marveled at and something that our poor city-bred sense of smell can't hope to define.

Have fun at Ghiradelli, Fisherman's, Alcatraz, etc.!
