Have question about padded pleats.

You mentioned that they are "bouffy" - does that mean that I might be able to skip the bumroll on my new Elizabethan low-courts if I pad the cartrige pleats w/pouffy wool? (overskirt is cotton velveteen.)

I want to wear gown in 2 weeks for a friend's wedding, and I can't find my bum-roll! I was planning on adding a black guard to the bottom of the skirt anyway, so I can do that later if/when I find the bloody thing.

HELP!!!!!

I fixed my serger. All by myself!

It was running slow, if at all, and making a noise like the motor was trying to run but couldn't.

I took off everything on the oustide that looked like it unscrewed. Then I cleaned anything that looked dusty, greased anything that looked greasy, and oiled anything that looked like it was supposed to move. SUCCESS = vrooming well and back up to speed.

Then I managed to get all the bits back on in the right order, and I only lost one screw (that held on a little rubber foot-thingie on teh bottom, and I can hot-glue that back on if I have to.

(Then I cleaned up al the greasy glop from the sewing table - eeeeeeew)

So, while I didn't get the sewing done today that I had planned, I am in excellent shape to work much more efficiently from here on out.
