Color me stunned!
I just got flowers for Valentine's day.
Not from the guy I'm seeing now, but from someone I used to date more than 10 years ago.
We were together for 5 years, most of it long-distance. (He lived in Cincinnatti) Once he moved to Chicago, it sort of fell apart - I wanted more from the relationship than he did.
I still get X-mas cards and renewal of a magazine subscription that he got me into every year, even though I rarely see him. Maybe run into him and his girlfriend at SF conventions a few times a year.
Last year, out of the blue, he sent flowers for V-day. I sent a nice thank-you card, and he mailed a note back - very light in tone. Never a word since then.
Now flowers again - even ones I am not allergic to. Pleased yet puzzled. Why don't men come with instruction books?
