Hotel clerk on phone :"Just so you know, we have a 24-hour cancellation policy"
Me: "If I'm cancelling my room less than 24 hours before my brother's wedding, a cancellation fee will be the LEAST of my worries!"

Me: (busy day at work, picking up phone ) "This is Wendy - how can I help you?"
Rob (my new man) : "Oh, I suspect I can think of a few ways......"

(exposition - we are helping people lobby the city about a new smoke-free ordinance - a mother with her three kids stopped in with bunches of letters from schoolkids for the city council. One was small blond boy, approx age 3)

Small boy: "I'm going to follow you everywhere you go"
Me: (to co-worker) : "well, I always wanted a man who would follow me anywhere - guess I have to start somewhere"
