You'd think by now they'd know...

Just got a call regarding a resume I mailed, for an assistant in a sales office in Skokie.

He actually asked me if I had any young children! Don't people know by now that that kind of question in an interview is illegal?

Since I was getting the feeling that I didn't want this job anyway (They really want a mini-salesperson who will do all the stuff that sales people do but with no commission) I replied "Well first, no. And second, you know...that kind of a question isn't legal to ask a job applicant. Discrimination like that is illegal in most places."

So, I struck my blow for equal rights today!

Now back to making pretzels....
