I'm up. I don't wanna be up, but I am. Gotta get the old sleep schedule skewed 'round so I am not semi-concious on first day of shiny new job, so I got up at 9:30 this morning, and will do 8-ish tomorrow. Ye gods, that feels early!
Just got back from Walgreens, where I stocked up on cleaning stuff. If I have to be awake, I might as well be productive. And I got pretty-scented candles to burn once everything is sparkly-clean. Okay, maybe once the surfaces are less grey and fuzzy-looking. At least it will be an improvement.
Got a letter from my mommy. She's officially retiring on October 1st, and after my brother's wedding that weekend in San FranCircus, she will be driving down to Florida to look for a condo. She wants to get one near her um-friend Hal's place. (I just CAN'T call a man in his 70s a 'boyfriend'). After being messily divorced and living on her own for nearly 20 years, she wants to still have her own place. I can totally understand that. Still, it's hard to imagine my active tennis-playing travel-happy mom retired and puttering around on a golf cart in FL. Oh, well, life goes on, I guess. Then I'll be the only member of my family still living in a cold climate.
It's waaay sunny and low 70s out. I have all the windows open and fans going. It smells much less like socks and dishes in here now.
