Crafty goodness
Jul. 15th, 2004 11:47 amWell, I interviewed at FibreCraft this morning - they're right next to the Leaning Tower Of Niles. They make craft supplies- heavy on the doll & bear type stuff, but some neat things nonetheless.
When they asked me what attracted me to the position posting I iommediately replied "The possibility of an employee discount!". I hope they didn't think I was kidding....
I hit the outlet store after the interview - spent $18.57 and got: 6 spools ribbon, 2 plain votive candleholders, some florist wire, 2 dozen hot-glue sticks, and several pounds of assorted beads & jewelry findings. Yes that's right. Pounds. They are mostly the cheapy kind, but I now have more button covers, earring wires (french & kidney), barrel clasps, earring posts, lobster-claw clasps, pin-backs, eye & head-pins, teeny weeny screw-eyes, safety-pins (nickel & brass), crimp beads, jump rings and jingle bells than I can even imagine possible uses for. Fill a plastic grocery bag for $12! I spent a happy 45 minutes rooting through the bins. AND some eeny-weeny little plastic teapots that would make great faire favors (once I finally run out of the gross of black roses I got 3 years ago).
