It's officially the holiday season now
Dec. 14th, 2006 04:34 pmWe just got our first "thing with a corporate logo on it with candy inside".
I have been streaming various holiday-themed netradio channels in an effort to get properly spirited. I have no idea if I'll get any baking actually done or not.
It's not looking particularly Solstice-ish around these parts. I walked over to the Post Office in the pouring rain today, and we might hit 60 on Saturday. Wierd.
I'm done with my shoppies, except for one more gifty-card for my mom that I've not decided where to get yet. One more thing coming in the mail and then I'll ship everything off to California. Hopefully I can get it into the mail tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.
Tonight should be fun - a friend who is trying to get on the next season of "Who Wants To Be A Superhero" is coming over for a consultation. Part of what he is doing is filming his process - he did a bunch of interviews at Windycon asking people what makes a good superhero. We're going to mostly talk costuming - the traditional superhero outfits and why they aren't always practical in the real world, but he also wants some more academic stuff from me too, specifically on the subject of masks. It's what I get for being a folklore and history geek. I actually said some fairly profound and insightful stuff in our initial interview, and he was like "ooh - we gotta get that in there". So I get to natter on about stuff that gets my geek on, and possibly end up on TV. If nothign else, it'll be fun.
