Yes my friends may be less-than-organized, but it makes for a longer holiday season!
(Of course the fact that it had stamps on it for Hannukah and Eid sure didn't hurt any )
Got a pkg from gretchen2149 in today's mail. Yummy cookie-things for me and toyses for Pepper-bunny! A fuzzy-football thing that squeaks, some little glowy rolling things, and a potholder/stocking thing!
awwwww. *smooches*

Not allergic to rabbits
Jan. 8th, 2007 08:42 pmBut maybe I'm allergic to Rabbis?
Went for a shiva visit chez
darkwing830, and arrived just in time for evening services, so I stood in the doorway and tried to look attentive. Then I started itching. Realized I was coming out in welts. Hrm - no cats, no dogs, probably mildew but that would be in the basement. Had a mild giggle-fit with "Maybe I'm allergic to Jews?" Hrm - but I can go over to see
ashtalet with no problem. I reacted at Bart's shiva too, but I thought it was the dogs. Maybe that's it - I'm allergic to Rabbis!
This is what happens in my head when I have to stand and look attentive while people read aloud in a language I don't understand and there aren't enough books
Managed to get through the service without clawing anything raw and with only one hit of my inhaler, but I could tell this was going to be a brief visit. As I was coming from work, I didn't exactly have time to make a covered dish, but it is traditional to bring food to a shiva house so that the mourners don't have to do anything for themselves during the mourning period. Coming straight from work I didn't exactly have time for a covered dish, but I picked up a couple of boxes of assorted cereal bars - people need to eat breakfast too! Gave hugs, chatted briefly with some of the people there (of which there were rather a lot) and made my goodbyes.
