I should know better by now

My bunny is smarter than me.

I have my bedroom door blocked off - it's the only place in the apartment where she can't go. This makes is terribly alluring of course.

Well, I used to have a folding gate standing in the doorway. Until she figured out how to drag it out of the way.

So I re-rigged it so that it hangs from screws in the doorframe - one side is zip-tied down and you need to pull AND list to open the other side. I figured that shoud be bunny-proof.

Yeah, right. This is the bunny who climbed up a ladder to get at tasty cranberry bread, and who has figured out how to open the oven (the better to lick the used cookie sheets).

She has been grabbing the wire grids in her teeth and rattling them in frustration, and today she managed to hit on the right combination of actions to pull it off the screw and get it open.

Sigh.

At the moment, I have a clothespin on the screw that should keep the grid from coming off. As far as I know, you need opposable thumbs to operate a clothespin, right?

Yeah - who am I kidding....
