yay for money!
Mar. 9th, 2007 10:53 pmGot my tax refund direct-deposited today. Not much but handy. Also got my final unemployment deposit today. and NEXT Friday is a 2-week paycheck from the new job. From famine to feast in 2 weeks!
This is all good because since I seem to be getting better (I think I'm up to 75% of lung capacity and improving) I'm making an appointment for Pepper's first session of bunny-dating next Wednesday. I'm as nervous as a mom sending her daughter to the prom! She's even acting like a sullen teenager - she had her nails trimmed last night and her ears rinsed tonight so I'm human-non-grata at the moment. So I have to get some stuff for her potential husbun - another litterbox and some more wire-cube-grids. Also cleaning the bathroom so we can do bonding session is as close to "neutral territory" as I can manage.
Also spent some of the evening doing band work - contracts, newsletter etc. Sunday is our final rehearsal before St. Pat's. Hopefully it will just be a runthru for timing and placing. Or else there will be much poking with pointy sticks....
Friday at the new job is turning out to be the "get shit done" day, as half the staff is either at properties or working from home. After a false start when I spent an hour going over the manual for the wrong version of ACT, I started in on my next huge project - sorting out the main ACT database. They did an import from an old spreadsheet program, but half the stuff went into the wrong or ill-defined fields. A lot of these people have 2-3 houses and 5-6 home phone numbers! So first I rearranged the layout a bit so we can get most of the useful info on one screen. I only got up to Ag out of 2500 entries, but it's mostly grunt work now - combining entries and moving info around. Depending on other demands on my time, I guesstimate 2 weeks. Yeah, it's dull, but that's what admins do. (plus 2 other people have tried and been unable to handle it, so it's yet another way to blow them out of the water!)
Gonna do some errands with a car tomorrow afternoon and then get some sewing done. Thought about going to see "The 300", but even the promise of pretty man-candy may not be enough. Besides, I know how it ends :)
For those who read my last post and like seamstrix like their music "with dirt on it", I saw an act you might like on our other PBS station tonight - Bad Haggis. Definitely a bit gritty - their fiddler has candy-apple-red spiked hair and an eyebrow ring.
