They gave me a defective bunny!
Mar. 27th, 2007 01:47 pmI mentioned on one of the rabbit groups that Frisco was leaving drooly green puddles all over the place at veggie time. Someone suggested that I get his teeth checked, so I dropped a line to the rescue to see when the last time his teeth were checked was.
Sure enough - he has a history of tooth spurs. These are little sharp points that happen when a bunny's teeth don't grind down properly with normal wear-and-tear. It can make it uncomfortable to eat - I've seen pictures and it looks pretty painful.
Since he's still a foster, the shelter pays all medical care, so I got him an appointment for early Saturday morning at the bunny-dentist (the same vet that I take Pepper to).
I wonder if they'll give him a carrot-flavored lollipop?
