That's one determined bunny!
May. 14th, 2007 07:42 pmMy building has the exterminators coming tomorrow. They are using that bait-gel stuff that goes in the back of the cabinets and is designed to be OK for pets as long as they don't actually eat the tube or something.
But I have 2 problems:
1) I have to clear out all the cabinets. That includes the ones with food. Also I have the bunny who would probably eat a car if you put peanut butter on it, so I have to keep her away from the cabinet contents.
2) I have to keep her out of the empty cabinets until the stuff dries. If they leave the cabinets open, she will go investigating just because.
So, I blocked off most of my kitchen with the folding Ex-Pen I got off craigslist last week. It's tied to the far side of her condo (so she can still get in to eat, drink, and potty) and the other end is wedged in between the fridge and the first of the cabinets. In an idea world, the janitor will actually READ the sign I put up as to how to open it and how to close it again.
So far Pepper has:
1) tried to climb over it, but without opposable thumbs this is a tricky business.
2) Yanked it in several directions - she can move it but it won't help.
3) tried to pick it up so she could squeeze under it. Yes, this is a 30" tall metal grating and a 6 lb bunny.
She's been in there for 20 minutes now. She is nothing if not persistant. Also loud.
I expect a rather noisy evening.
