I has an owie
Sep. 11th, 2007 12:20 pmI don't recall doing anything in particular to it, but mid-day Sunday I noticed that something was out of whack with my right knee. It felt like something was slightly out of place and as a result it was uncomfortable to walk. I tried to shake it loose, but nothing really worked. somethign would move and it felt fine, and then something else vould move and it would buckle. It felt like stuff finally got back where it ought at a pit stop on the way back from MiRF so I figured I'd baby it for a day or so and everything would be fine. I've never really had anything like this before, so I wasn't really sure what to do.
Yesterday I was noticably limping, and though nothing really "hurt" most of the time, things felt VERY unstable. Keeping my foot perfectly straight helped, and there were times when it almost felt fine, but by the time I walked home from the bus in the rain I was only able to take small steps without it buckling on me. Lots of "discomfort" but little actual pain. Since I figured that by then it was too late to ice it, I just took Ibuprofen and stayed off it all evening. I found my old knee brace from when I hurt the LEFT one at Fright Fest al those years ago, but either I've lost weight or it has stretched out, and it wasn't very helpful.
This morning things were more stable, but something in there is grinding and that's not right. I picked up a better brace on the way to work and am using my cane (from when I sprained my ankle a while back). But it definitely feels warm in there and it's not getting much better, so I made a Dr's appt for tomorrow afternoon. It's not "awful-bad", I hope, but probably"not going to get better without some help" bad.
