My knee is almost all better now so I've booked a massage for this evening after work.
It's not my knee that needs work - it's my back and hips. All that limping and then using the cane - everything is all out of whack and it takes me forever to get to sleep no matter how tired I am. I wanted to wait till the knee was better so they didn't have to skip that area.
Frankly I've been to spendy spas and I'm just as happy paying only $60 plus tip for an hour. Then afterwards I get a free lavender steam and rain shower, and I'll go out at lunch to pick up some kind of decadent scrubbiness for the shower. Good for the body AND for the soul.
We're winding down to the end of the season, and though having that one Sunday to rest was wonderful, I need a little more than one lazy day to get the tank truly topped off. Two more weeks before we're done, and I can finally set things down for a bit. It's not so much just physical as emotional fatigue. I've always got something I have to be doing or working on. I don't see some of my friends for weeks at a time. My filing is a bunny-nibbled pile on the futon, I can't remember the last time I went to the library, and finding matching shoes in my closet is becoming critical. The bottom of my fridge is all sticky, and the sink is scary.
This weekend is the Four Kingdoms Faire in Rock Island - only a 3-4 hour drive this time! We're sharing a cabin with TJ and Melanie, so everyone has their own bed, even if the showers are down the street. We've only got 3 shows a day plus opening and closing scenes, but we'll probably do some busking just because. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the folks we met last year at the Amana Colonies Faire, especially the dojo that does demos of 16th century Japanese fighting styles. We're skipping the Feast on Saturday night, cuz after spending the day doing faire I'm really not too excited about doing it all evening too. We'll go out to eat and them come back for maybe a little campfire singing and then a good night's sleep.
