I saw something at Windycon last weekend that made me very happy.

Sunday morning is Critter Crunch, a sort of Robot Wars for amateurs. I wandered in to see what was up.

The current competitors were two very intent, very poised, young women! They looked to be in the 12-14 age range, one was dressed in a nice sweater and dress slacks, and the other was wearing a long blue satin princess dress - with petticoats!

A Princess! Driving a Robot that She Built Herself!

"I'm a Pretty Pretty Princess, and I'll kick your ass with my mad tech skilz!

Words cannot describe how happy this made me.

but when?

I will shortly have BOTH "A Pinky and The Brain Christmas" AND "A Wish for Wings That Work" (The Opus holiday special).

I also have new furniture, and a bunny that likes company. I could use a reason to clean.

I should therefore have a party.

I am thinking a Sunday afternoon as evenings are hard for people, and there are many office and family events to consider. [livejournal.com profile] post_toastie - are semisolid plans in the offing for the Star Wars Exhibit yet?

Do people already have anything already scheduled on the 2nd, 9th, or 16th? Weigh in if there is a conflict and I'll make up my mind by week's end. (Supervised kidlings are OK)

EDIT: OK - pensnuggles has something 0on the 2nd, so I'll take whichever day (9th or 16th) that post_toastie WON'T be getting tix to the Star Wars thingie. Was thinking either a late brunch or an afternoon of munchies. thoughts?
