One small bright result of the WGA strike is that there are a lot of funny people out there with a little too much time on their hands.

Behold - The Post Apocalyptic Workout!

In preparation for the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse, she's getting fit and planning to learn useful survival skills, for under $50/month!

Aside from the fact that I'd be dead as soon as my asthma meds run out, it sounds like fun.

mmmm

My current favorite thing to do with smoked turkey - a large tortilla, spread about 2/3 of it thinkly with cream cheese and sprinkle lightly with dill. Slice cucumber VERY thin and then a layer of smoked turkey. Roll up and eat! Mmmm.

We hit 65 today with mostly grey damp conditions. There are flooding alerts popping up, as we had about a foot of snow pretty much all melt at once and it's rather puddlish out. We also have a bit of rain and thunder right now as we're on the south end of the big storm that hit Kenosha-ish with a tornado. Yep - a tornado in January. Some damage but all injuries are said to be minor.

Apparently LUSH is correct when they say that "Honey I Washed The Kids" smells like honey. At least Pepper thought so! (Either that or she did something that warranted getting her mouth washed out with soap) I noticed that vaguely guilty-looking body language as she hopped past me and managed to retreive it with only a few nibble marks. Aside from raiding my toiletries, her current favorite playthings are a pink plastic measuring cup that she found on the kitchen floor and a piece of junk mail she yoinked out of the trash bin. Well, it has pictures of food on it....Right now she's having a bit of after-dinner wash-up, which is terribly adorable.

It's been 12 hours since I last saw a moth (Though I will keep looking for a few more days).

All remaining flour and rice has been kept in the freezer since Sunday and today I sifted all the flours and went through all the rice before putting it in either ziplock bags or closed cannisters.

And didja know that some grains of Minute Rice get a little toasted or something in processing? The first few little white things with black specks on the end panicked me a bit, but they ALL turned out to be just plain old rice. (Yes, generally I prefer "real"rice, but the minute stuff is great to toss a handful into plain soup or broth or for making quick wraps)

No sign of life in the remaining foodstuffs so I think I'm OK.

Though I'm waiting till we get below freezing to take the back-porch trash down to the dumpster, just in case... *shivers*
