it's hard to shovel with just a few spoons
Mar. 1st, 2008 04:25 pmI'm still pretty tired - the gravity is still turned up kind of high, but probably only half of what it was earlier in the week. It's annoying to be tired but not necessarily sleepy. You just lie there feeling lump-ish and can't even concentrate on a book. I got about 5 minutes into LOST on Thursday and decided I didn't have enough spoons to follow it, so I'll catch the pop-up version next week.
I realized that I can do a limited form of medical research on LJ. There are two similar yet distinct strains of the flu decimating my F-listers, both ones in different states and even among people who attended the same convention 2 weeks ago. It's pretty easy to see how the CDC can have missed the guess on what strains would take root - and that's why this year's shot isn't as effective.
Yesterday I went to Devon Market to pick up a nice assortment of greens for Pepper. The snot-nosed kid behind the register said "what are you doin' - feeding a rabbit? He he he." and then sort of flapped his mouth when I said "yes".
I wasn't too awake at gaming last night, but I'm still glad I went. Getting out of my apartment is nice. I pushed things to go grovery shopping last night afterwards. It's nice to have a full freezer again.
After a hot bath with a sandalwood/lemon bath melt and almost 9 hours of sleep things were a bit brighter and I set off for a couple of hours of having goo poured on my head. Did a bit of window-shopping but then decided I was too tired to go to the library so I came home for a nap.
I'm slowly digging out my apartment as well as myself. I took down a couple of bags of trash this morning, and am on dishwasher load #3 (to be fair, it IS a very small dishwasher). I opened the windows and the back door for a while. Pepper is having a grand time with the paper grocery bags I left on the floor for her. I think I'll put off the grand laundry expedition till tomorrow. I may even wash my RUGS!
But for now - back to the couch and PBS.
