As we suspected..
Apr. 5th, 2008 03:37 pmSevere sprain. Nothing broken, but a LOT of soft tissue swelling and general unhappiness. It's not purple yet but it's big and poofy and only vaguely ankle-shaped.
I spent the morning at the doctor's office and then much of the afternoon waiting for X-rays.
I got a new set of crutches, an ace bandage, and some hyper-ibuprofen. Which is good because some kid flopped into his seat next to me on the bus home and kicked me square in the most damaged and swollen area! AND on the way there someone hit the same ankle with their shopping cart. I'm not sure which hurts more at the moment - the ankle or the wrists and hands where I'm getting crutch-blisters.
So I'm calling off checking out that CPAN property tomorrow and pushing the realtor meeting another week. I can work but I'm obviously 'sposed to stay off it as much as possible.
I went to bed as normal last night but when I tried to get back down the ladder middle of the night to go pee it hurt a LOT, so I pushed myself a little and pulled all my blankets and pillows and the feather bed off and then folded down the couch and nested myself for the rest of the night. I figured that in the long run it'd hurt less if I didn't have to deal with the ladder to the loft for a while.
