The whole story
Aug. 5th, 2008 11:01 amWhen we last left our intrepid heroine: after a day of shivers/sweating, nausea, dizziness, panic attacks, crying jags, and the occasional auditory hallucination, s( he was headed to the urgent care clinic listed on her insurance company's webpage. )
spoke w/doctor
Aug. 5th, 2008 04:30 pmshe pretty much confirmed what I thought. Hang in there and take the xanax if I have to, and see her on Thursday to get things updated in my file.
She said "I still want to switch you off the Paxil" but agreed that waiting till after faire season is fine. And I politely broached the "given what happened this time I think I'd rather work with a specialist on that when the time comes". Cuz she's a great doc most of the time but really doesn't have the experience I need with these particular meds.
Since Ripco is still down, I signed up with a bargain-basement dial-up service for a month so I will still have net access from home. I still can't access my e-mail so use the work addy for now. (see last entry). This way when I've psyched myself into a freakout, I can IM with people in other time zones who are awake anyway, or check crazymeds.us (it's all good - I already want to bash another poster with a poker), or look up side effects, or pics of baby bunnies. That helps.
Thanks for being there (or is it technically "here") for me. This sucks.

mmmm toasty
Aug. 5th, 2008 06:48 pmso I have a trial account at toast.net until either Ripco comes back online or I move and the dsl-oid connection gets installed. Not going to even configure the e-mail accounts - I have enough addresses to remember - but it's less than $5 for the rest of August for dial-up, which will do.
Honestly, knowing that I'm connected helps a lot.
Haven't freaked out yet.
