My feets are DRY now!

OMG did we have rain at MiRF this weekend.

Now we've had rain at other faires. We've even had flooding at KC bad enough to float the Royal Stage. But KC is on hills! Imagine the conditions in the lanes at the bottom of the hill at KC, and put them all over the site. THAT'S what it was like at MIRF this weekend.

The soggy story )

remember her?

I posted last week about [livejournal.com profile] ringsandarrows, who was competing this week in the Paralympics in Beijing.

Well, she came back from finishing 12th in the qualifying to take the Bronze Medal in the women's individual recurve - standing event!

Five game for comedy 'Faire'
Ricci, Benjamin among actors cast in romantic romp

By Gregg Goldstein

Sept 12, 2008, 01:00 AM ET
NEW YORK -- Christina Ricci, Owen Benjamin, Nadine Velazquez, Bill Engvall and Cedric the Entertainer are heading to the Renaissance Faire in the romantic comedy "All's Faire in Love."

Benjamin ("The House Bunny") will play an eager drama school grad whose new Renaissance Faire theater troupe makes him their fetch boy. His hopes and libido rise when he spots a Faire virgin (Ricci), but swashbuckling colleagues threaten to thwart their budding romance.

Ann-Margret, Matthew Lillard and Louise Griffiths also star in the That's Hollywood/Patriot Pictures production. Velazquez (NBC's "My Name Is Earl") and Engvall (Blue Collar Comedy Tour) will be cast by the time cameras roll this month in Michigan.

Scott Marshall ("Keeping Up With the Steins") directs from Robert A. White's screenplay. Scott Reed and Ron Singer ("Bumper") are producing under their That's Hollywood shingle.

Patriot's Michael Mendelsohn is executive producing, financing and overseeing casting of the film. Sidney Kimmel International is handling international sales.

The project originally was titled "Ye Olde Times," with writer White initially slated to direct. The CAA/Visions Management Group-repped Cedric replaces the once-attached Jack Black as Professor Shockworthy, whose appearances bookend the film he narrates in fairy-tale style.
