Yes I'm going to brave Black Friday
Nov. 27th, 2008 01:23 pmBut I'm going to a standalone bigbox hardware store at 3:30PM. Hopefully that won't be TOO bad.
See, I thought I was going to have to put off painting the new place due to lack of moneys. But this weekend Menards has basic satin-finish paint for $3.99/gallon after rebate. AND decent-quality painting kits (trays, drops, and rollers etc) for 50% off or more.
So today I clean, unpack, install my closet-organizer and put another coat of enamel on some of the furniture from last weekend.
Tomorrow I move furniture, remove wall-art and tape the borders and trim (oh yeah, and go get the painting stuff).
Saturday is painting (with poor PepperPants fenced in the kitchen, beceause I do not need a small fuzzy supervisor)
Sunday is any remaining splotchy places and then putting everything all back.
I'm only going to do the blues - the 2 shades in the bedroom and the matching 2 accent walls in the living room. Partly because I'm not insane and partly because this deal is limited to 4 gallons, and various online calculators tell me I need 1 gal of the darker blue (for 2.5 walls) and 2 of the lighter blue (for 3.5 walls). I can do the remaining living room and hallway (a pale silvery grey) at a later time.
So while there will still be lots of opportunity for vegging, napping and reading this weekend, I do have a certain number of things I actually have to get accomplished each day.
