Ideas for Windycon panels
Mar. 20th, 2009 03:56 pmMostly for myself but feel free to comment
So far I've come up with:
Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can do something on actual Victorian/Edwardian historical costuming, draping, etc
Non-costume ideas
In other news, I did some more work on my stuff last night. What used to be a lighted plastic magnifier hanging from a cord is now copper-colored with brass doohickies on it. The brass-wound glass vials have been filled with 'mysterious liquids' - aka facial cleanser, shampoo, bath gel and dish soap. Intial light installation has begun. I also got a plastic ray gun at the dollar store to see if I can do anything amusing with it.
So far I've come up with:
- Duct-tape Patterns - beyond the body double (Learn to make your own patterns by drawing on yourself)
- Parts is Parts - let's build something (trying to secure donation of bits from American Science & Surplus)
- Found Materials aka "It Came From The Thrift Store"
- My Favorite Things - tools you never thought you needed or "what the hell is a rivet gun?"
- 'Don't Lick The Wallpaper' - Color and the Victorians
Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can do something on actual Victorian/Edwardian historical costuming, draping, etc
Non-costume ideas
- Types and Tropes - 'Character classes' in Steampunk
- "You got your Punk in my Steam!" - what do YOU think Steampunk is/should be
