mmmmm - i has a clean!

Our building's limping hot water heater finally failed on Sunday.
Now we knew it was coming, there had been a special assessment (some people had even paid it) and we had a couple of bids in. We had planned to vote on a contractor on Tuesday evening.
Did I mention the hot water failed on Sunday?
That meant:
Monday - call around and see which of the companies we talked to could come the soonest.
Tuesday - have one come and double check the exact stuff needed, and order it
Wednesday - actual installation
Thursday - installation of the one part they didn't have in stock the day before.
Mind you - no one from the old board actually, you know - TOLD anyone what was going on. (I knew because the old pres called me for a legal take on one aspect of the situation). They told the couple of people that showed up Tuesday night that it would be installed on Wed. But when that was delayed, no word to anyone. Took me 3 calls and 2 e-mails to find out and I'm the bloody PRESIDENT! So I hand-wrote a couple of "the contractor should finish installing the new water heater today!" notes and tacked them up in the various lobbies on my way to work this morning.
I guess the old board members weren't too bothered - they both have Bally's memberships and were showering over there. Me? I was heating up water on my stove every morning and washing in a bucket! So I wasn't actually offensive but I just didn't FEEL clean. And my hair? Yay for headbands...
So when I got home this evening, I took a nice long shower for the first time since Saturday, and scrubbed and scrubbed. (Then I had to rinse the tub because of all the dead skin bits - ew). Then I watched a bit of TV and then took a nice long whirlybath until my toes were wrinkly. (and scrubbed a little more, just in case)
"i feel pretty...oh so pretty...." *does a little dance*
