I suppose it's a good idea
Apr. 18th, 2009 02:34 pm....to change up dentists once in a while.
I had to find a new dentist because my insurance plan changed in September, and I've been forgetting to. But a finally got around to it and found one that is 3 blocks from my home and has Saturday hours. Bonus that its'a younger female dentist who got her degree from Northwestern.
We'll just say she's not impressed with the work that my old dentist did. That inlay-crown-ish thing? She looked at and said "and when did he plan to finish it?". Also had some not very nice things to say about the fact that he left that annoying gap in front of it and I'm apparently already getting a small cavity in the next tooth over because of the stuff getting stuck in there. Sigh.
So she is putting in to my insurance for approval to get it re-done or at least partially re-worked. Two appointments - yay. Can't say I'm too excited about it, but if it gets approved I want to get it taken care of as soon as possible. Waiting isn't going to make it any better and you never know with jobs and insurance and stuff.
Aside from that she's impressed and says I take very good care of my teeth. So at least that part is good news. I've also got another very old filling that is getting a crack in it, but we're going to take a "wait and see" on that. So once insurance approves it I'll take a look at finances and get it done.
Came home and finished putting up the windowboxes. My next door neighbor lady came out to see, and her English is about as good as my Spanish. But she was interested in what I was growing, and helped me get the brackets up for the remaining railing boxes. I poked poor Pepper out of her nap and brought her out to show to the neighbor, and then pulled off a lettuce leaf and tore it in half and I ate half and fed Pepper the other half - which got the point across. :)
Pepper is peeved with me - between waking her up for show and tell and then the nail-trim and scent-gland-cleaning of this morning there is woe and I am much disapproved of.
Sat out in the hangy-chair for a little while with a book and my iced tea for a while. It got close to 70 for a while but it's clouding up a little now and the breeze is picking up. Maybe a bit of a nap and then I'll do some more painting.
