garden update
Aug. 1st, 2009 11:23 amHarvested half of the rainbow carrots today. They weren't kidding.

These were among the first things I planted indoors in early May. They came out short and/or twisty because they grew in standard flowerbox-depth boxes. I think maybe next year they'll go in deeper containers.
Pepper-bunny LOVES the carrot tops, and then she gets the carrot ends and I get the rest (carrots are actually very high in sugar and this only a 'sometimes food' for bunnies). There are about this many left in the other side of the box. This half will be cultivated, bunny-pooper-zed, and planted up with some of the parsely currently sprouting up in a smaller container - probably in about a week they'll be big enough to actually plant out.
