marking time

Yesterday I slept in and then went in to work for half a day. I was down 8 unpaid hours from Wednesday and needed money plus there is a LOT to get done before we move the office on Friday. COMB said "You'll be surprised at how much you'll get done." I replied "No I won't be - I KNOW how much I'll be able to get done with no one bothering me!"
On the way home I stopped in at the Borders on Michigan Avenue and found that![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-syndicated.gif)
seananmcguire's 'Rosemary and Rue' was actually out, so I got a copy (and took pics). I'm about 2/3 of the way through and enjoying it immensely. I adore her writing on her LJ and this is urban fantasy with much more developed fae world that I've ever seen - there are rose goblins and cait sidhe and undines and hobs and all sorts of fae in here. Most other urban fantasy takes one or two of the more well-known types and only makes mention of the rest. This level of detail shouldn't surprise anyone who has even the vaguest idea of what-all goes on inside Seanan's head - it's a very busy place.
I slept in today and let my pain meds wear off to get a better idea of what exactly is still damaged. Seems like most of the pain is in the hip area, radiationg down from there and tro a lesser extent from the knee. Seems mostly soft-tissue pain by now, so alternating rest and as close to normal movement as I can manage sounds like a plan. I have the 1st appt with the new PT on Tuesday after work, and hopefully can get some specific stretches to get this back in shape in fairly short order.
My stomach hurts - probably from a week on 800mg ibuprofen 3x/day - so I've been eating pretty bland today. Toast for breakfast and milk/cereal for dinner. Chicken sandwich for dinner, and i have green-tea ice cream in the machine. I just mixed instant sweetened green tea powder I got at Mitsuwa with milk instead of water, and popped it into the machine. It's mostly frozen now and nice and light-tasting.
I was able to get into my knockoff skychair this afternoon for about an hour to enjoy the sunshine. I think I actually got a little tan on my legs. Pepper really likes it when I'm injured, as I'm home and easily reachable for pettins. She was really snotty yesterday, so I'll put her back on her sulfa meds for a week.
But i'm off to pack ice cream now....
