Bristol Prep
Sep. 4th, 2009 08:17 pmExcited to be back at Bristol Faire for the first time in what - 5 years? Something like that. 5 shows a day and highs in the low 80s - practically a bloody vacation! (I recall one particularly ghastly 3-day at MiRF with 11 shows a day - By Monday I was kind of hoping I'd just die)
Had to make some quick repairs to my kit the last few days. Fixed the hasp on the CD box (will do a better job later), installed a new lock-pin and gave it a quick coat of polyurathane. Also recoated the old wooden mug. Found I'd popped a lacing on my favorite faire sandals so I improvised a not-quite-matching fix that will do till I take the things apart and re-work them in the off-season. Picked up a new tube of non-smeary lip-goo and some lip balm. New straps to my whistle-quiver, tucked a couple spare whistles in the bag, and found most of my belt-bits so I'm good to go. Prepped set lists and sales sheet (
woody_whistler's daughter is CD-wenching for us, and with current band, old band and solo cds for sale our accounting can get kind of complimicated. )
I'm pretty pleased that we have 5 sets without repeating a single tune and with more than a handful left over. A couple pieces are still a bit under-rehearsed but with a quick review beforehand we'll do fine.
Morning comes waaay too early....
