I hate cats
Jan. 16th, 2010 08:14 pmwell mostly I hate that
1) I am horribly allergic to cats and
2) that a majority of the people in my chosen cultural subgroups (ren-folk and SF fans) seem to love cats.
These two facts together severely limit my social possibilities. If I want to travel, I can't stay with friends because they have cats. I've never seen my nearly-two neice because while I could probably manage to GET to California, my brother and his wife have cats - I don't have hotel/car funds and I suspect I'd get some odd looks pitching a tent on their lawn. I have to remember to ask everyone who invites me anywhere "Hey, do you have cats?".
Or if I forget that part, I get to travel an hour on the bus to a meet-up, and then get to spend around an hour there before the neeed to breathe drives me back for another hour on the bus home.
So much for MY Saturday night!
