Home again from the hills of Kintucky!
I said goodbye to
alliesutherland & Pudgie about 12:50 and headed out. Going back was much faster, as I skipped the tour of scenic Danville that I took on the trip out. It was a lovely drive back - sunny and near 60 degrees, so I even had the windows open for a while. It was nice to be among hills again - 20 years in Illinois and I'm still not used to this whole flat thing. A steady 10mph over the speed limit put me in the right lane and being passed frequently, but I was not in a huge hurry. Even with a McD's stop in Shelbyville (I really wanted to steal a sign for
faireraven, but didn't see one that would fit in my luggage) and a stop for gas just inside I265, I walked into the terminal a good 45 minutes before my flight.
Total expenses $44 for rental car, $14 for gas, and $23 for groceries - so definitely under my $100 cap.
It was a nice quiet visit - we mostly hung out, watched DVDs, sewed, cooked, made tea, knitted, played with the computer and talked. No stresses.
Renfield blinked at me but hasn't come out yet - I am assuming he's pretty much unchanged.
A quite evening of catching up on mail and watching TV, then an early bed to get ready for tomorrow's first day at the new job.
I said goodbye to
