"Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 Guilty Pleasures" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 Guilty Pleasures as well as state this rule. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names. "
Well, I refuse to tag anyone- if people want to play that's fine, but they cna do that on their own.
I have quite a few things that would normally qualify as "guilty pleasures", except for the fact that I refuse to feel guilty about them!
1) Trashy romance novels. Preferably historical, with lots of smut. With unlikely situations and impossible costumes, and lots and lots of smut. Bodice-Rippers R Us! Though I refuse to spend more than $1 on one, I get given them, or pick them up by the bagful at the library used book sales.
2) Really bad movies, particularly those of the 50's & early 60s. Seriously. I own copies of 'Night of the Lepus', 'Invasion of the Bee Girls', 'Zombies on Broadway', and quite a few others that most people will never admit to having seen. I used to program Northwestern University's Annual B-Fest and am still on their mailing list. (This year tix sold out in 3 hours! A long way from 'you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll kiss five bucks good-bye'). My godzilla fixation is positively mainstream by comparison.
3) I love cool-whip. I eat it out of the bowl with a spoon, sometimes still frozen. Or it's also really good smooshed up with your jello.
4) on the same note, I'm rather fond of 'pretend food' - the kind of snack that bears no resemblance to any actual food product. Circus Peanuts, those little sugar dots on paper, and candy corn. Yay carnuba wax!
5) I still wear legwarmers. It's not a leftover-80s thing, it's a leftover-dancer thing. Especially around my apartment - I have sweaty feet but sometimes cold floors. Legwarmers pulled down over my heel keep my feet warmer than nothing but not as sweaty as socks.
