Not today, I have a headache

I got my new glasses yesterday. They look remarkably like my old glasses (which is a plus) but they are also a little stronger prescription that is taking some getting used to.

I have apparently developed a habit of leaning in to my computer screen (part of what clued me in that I needed new glasses) so I have to keep conciously leaning back in my chair. Also, the edges of the lens have a different distortion now, so I actually have to move my head to read to the bottom of the page - not just my eyes. If I just glance at the keyboard, my hands look really faw away.

Got a bit of a headache as a result, so tread lightly. I'm grumpy today.

I think it's because these are a tad rounder on the bottom than my old ones, so the distortion along that edge is easier to see. Add to that the fact that I have my monitor set to the proper ergonomic height, so if I glance down at my keyboard without moving my head, part of it is actually off the edge of the lens.

All of my keyboard is out of sight. I'm still kicking myself for having given in and buying glasses where I did just because it was easier. It was the *only* frames that worked with my face (both size and look) in the optomitrist's shop. But I should have known better.

I still hate that I can't *see* so much... tunnel vision is not a good thing when you've got the insane range of vision direction that I do. Even larger lenses only make looking forward better, but still, it'd be more forward and down than I can see now...
