If you are as outraged as I am

by the story I posted last night, about the OH woman repeatedly denied access to emergency contraception after a condom failure who now finds herself pregnant....
She has been able to scrape up the money to terminate the pregnancy, but she suggests that donations to Planned Parenthood would help - if more clinics could afford to expand their hours and access then fewer women would find themselves in a similar situation.
You can donate online like I did
Also, for women in Illinois, it is possible to get a medical assessment and a prescription for EC online for $40 through PP's website. You need to honestly list any risk factors and you may not be approved for medical reasons, but for those women who do not have a sympathetic doctor or who for whatever reason need this service, the link is here.. You would still need to have the script filled either at a PP clinic or at your pharmacy.
I am so angry about this. Not that this is any of my business - her choice is her choice no matter what reasons she has for making them - but she already has 3 kids and she has medical conditions which preclude other forms of BC than what she was using and which also would make her a very high risk patient if she did try to carry to term. She would have to have her cervix sewn shut and spend months on bed-rest, and she could very well die. But these considerations do not matter to those who continue to spew hate in the face of an already-stressed woman because it makes them feel better about themselves and their beliefs.
Like I said, it's not a "what if?" scenario any more - this is a real woman who is undergoing unimaginable stress because of the current political climate. I don't know whether to cry or scream.
