Dave West. He has a character concept called Synergy, a mutant who can basically pull power in the form of bioenergy from other people on his side. "Power from the People" and all that. A fun angle is that in the sometimes anti-mutant Marvel Universe he is a mutant masquerading as a gadgeteer - an interesting idea.
Right now we're dealing with the issues posed by his not-exactly-heroic physique. I can pad out his shoulders a bit to help with the proportions some. Right now he's trying to redesign one element of the costume. A white knee-length robe with a hood and lined in black may look GREAT when you draw it, but in real life people are going to take one look and think you are wearing your bathrobe!
