I have been trying all day long to not be too terribly smug or happy about the situation, but my flist is not helping LOL Since hell is full of personal torment, I have a feeling that there are loads of purple teletubbies in his future.

We actually have a few flags flying at half mast here. And Madison is supposed to be such a liberal town....

I will give Falwell credit for sticking to his beliefs, even though I don't agree with them. Personally, I think he would have done a lot more good playing for the St. Louis Cardinals

Like I said to a couple of other people - it's not exactly joy that he as a person is dead - more joy that we no longer have to listen to his particular brand of asshattery.

If only we could be sure that some of his ideas died with him - THAT would be worth celebrating.

Also, I hope he's getting cozy with Tinky-Winky about now....

I know. If I were a better person I would be able to look at all the good he did (there must have been some, right?) but I'm not. The idea of him meeting a just and righteous God and getting what he truly deserves just makes me all gleeful.

Speaking as a conservative Republican, he WAS NOT one of us, whatever his claims were. His views were an abomination and an affront to many. I for one am glad he's dead.
