well. if you want a job you may need to put up with recuriters.
i would have said "as stated in my cover letter: i can only meet with you outside of business hours, my salary requirements did not change" because the question could be read as "ok, i want to meet with you. now lets set up a time"
also the office doenst often forward the cover letter to the individual recruiter, so all they GET is the resume...
