I'm so strssed out that I skipped a scotch tasting tonight. blergh.

Looking like Saturday early evening works for more people to come over and watch bootleg Dr. Who. 7-ish? I also have the last 2 specials for people who want to catch up. We can play "spot the plot hole".

I've been a single-malt scotch snob for years. I tend to prefer the Islays, as for those prices, I want scotch that you have to chew.

I used to set up little tastings at MiRF and since the MiRF Wenches Guild is "Local #57 - Wenches of all flavors", I'm Whiskey Wendy

I was brought up on Talisker and Laphroaig. Jura's pretty smokey too. I also like Highland Park, from Orkney. It's a it sweeter, but it has the smoke.

I like to taste the peat smoke and the iodine in my malt. The Speyside lot are a wee bit too civilized. The present lot in the house are Laphoaig, Talisker, Glen Morangie (The La Santa), and Mortlach (Speyside, and not very interesting). We also have some Whisky Guillon Single Malt de la montagne de Rheimms. Not opened that yet... Could be interesting. Report has it that it is drinkable.

This one (which she skipped) was for The Macallan, a Speyside which I like a lot. But generally my preferences run toward the Islays. I have posted tasting notes on my lj.
