Had to start up a course of Prednisone for an asthma flare, and have the usual fun and exciting side effects.  Always hungry (which I'm trying to combat with several small high-protein meals per day to try to keep the blood sugar stable) and starting to notice the mood swings and insomnia.  This time around I picked up a potassium supplement to add with it.  I'd read that predisone really depletes your potassium levels.  I don't like bananas, so I thought I'd give this a try and see if it moderated any of the side effects.

But another one I sometimes get is really vivid and/or odd dreams, and last night was an example.

I was on some kind of road trip, in the mountains, and came to a tunnel.  Except the inside of the tunnel looked more like the entrance to a parking garage.  Also the tunnel was "automatic" - you got out of your car and it went through the tunnel on it's own while you had to walk through the underground complex on your own.  The complex looked kind of like a cross between a convention center and an underground mall, with industrial carpeting on the floor, and corridors and rooms with stores, small museums, etc.  It was also a bit reminiscent of a maze LARP in that the challenge was to find your way along a certain path to get out, and there were things you had to do to get to the next step.

One part of it, there was a small fisheries museum with a lobster tank on the floor where you could touch the lobsters.  I vividly recall the smell of the seawater, and there were sound effects of waves and bird calls playing.  There were exhibits on the walls as well, and you had to answer a few questions about what you had seen in order for the next door to open.

Between stations, your route was marked by colored duct tape (blue, I think, that kind of blended in with the carpet) lines and arrows.  There was other business going on in the complex, and sometimes you would pass people going about their business in the main hallways on your way to the next station, but they weren't part of the "game" so you pretty much ignored them.  At a couple of points you'd have a choice of doors, and I kept repeating to myself "Choose the route you're told to, not the one that  seems most obvious", and at a couple of points I would be ready to open the obvious door when I'd remember to stop and look at the floor again and it would turn out that I'd nearly missed the slightly hidden door on the side of the hallway that the arrows pointed to.

There were other players too, but for most of the time we pretty much ignored each other - and sometimes we were on different routes anyway.  But as the dream progressed, something happened - someone got hurt or something (I can't remember what it was)  and we started to band together and start planning either a revolt or an escape.  I think that was where the zombies started showing up.  There was a group of us holed up in a room that looked like a converted nightclub, with a white-lit raised floor in the center of the room with a half-high plexi fence and railing around it.  The rest of the room was dark and the walls and ceiling were painted flat black.   We'd managed to acquire some kind of limited-use energy weapons - kind of like the "stun" settings that the units had at LaserQuest, except that these were real.  Someone was working on getting a back door opened, and I was doing first-aid on some guy whose foot had been cut in half by a beam weapon.  There wasn't any blood, but I needed to come up with some kind of brace or stabilizer so that he could keep up with us.  I didn't recognize anyone in the group of maybe half a dozen people as anyone I actually know.  I looked up as the zombies/enemy/whatever got the door we'd come through  (which was in the middle of the wall and level with the raised floor although not connected)  and the light behind them was just starting to shine through.  These were rounded-edge hatch doors, like on a submarine or spaceship, and you could hear shouting outside.  I was about to turn around to check to see if we had managed to get the escape door open when I woke up.

Yeah.  I got nothin.
