Out-of-date but 'secure' data gets disposed of, paper (sometimes 30 years worth of 'we might need it some day' cellars full!) gets shredded and recycled, furniture gets wrangled (either into the new offices, or via various office furniture recycling companies), and people arrive at their new desks to find their computers working and their coffee awaiting them! (Or the machine is up and running, at least!) On one such move, she discovered that no-one had signed the lease for the new offices. She works for a very large housing association that deals with sheltered housing, geriatric facilities, and social security clients (some of whom are lovely, but some would make Cromagnon look civilized!)
