Our new database is evil. It is supposed to do everything, so as a result it does nothing particularly well.
Our trainer sucks. Her idea of answering a question is to e-mail you a powerpoint presentation. Apparently you are supposed to look at the pretty pictures and figure it out for yourself. No wonder no one knows how to use the blasted thing!
She also does not explain herself well. Apparently "put it in as a donation" does NOT mean put it in as a 'contribution', but put it in as 'estimated income'. Of course, that's perfectly logical.....NOT!!! (Can I get a Siebel-English dictionary?)
Also, the program is set up primarily to facilitate one kind of event - Relay for Life. We do a lot of those, and I suppose it works for those. "Move-Alongs" (bike rides, walks, etc) and "galas' (golf tournaments, balls, taste events) are the other kind of events. Problem is that I have a Gala in less than three weeks, and no one seems to know how to put one in!!!! Sent in a question about running a report (which I can't do at the moment as I don't have access to the reports server, but that's a separate issue) and was told "you do that under [TEAMS]
Galas do not have teams. How many times do I have to repeat this to this woman?
And we can't go to anyone else - I actually called the national tech support hotline with a question (silly me - I thought that's what it was there for) and she threw a hissy fit - now all Siebel questions in our reigion have to go through her.
I was explaining this to someone (so they knew why I couldn't put in their info as I was waiting for an answer) and she said "I feel your pain". I don't want HER to feel my pain, I want this blithering idiot at the division office to 'feel my pain'. Repeatedly. With a large blunt object....That manual she gave us has to be good for something.
