Well, I've still not gotten to the weekend writeup of OKRF - between work and making sure I do what I need to do to make it through the run with my health and sanity intact, I've just not had time.
But a few notes: ("la la")
1) Rob is much better. Doctor has eased his diet restrictions, so while he still cannot eat red meat or non-scaly seafood and has to go easy on the fried stuff, he can eat chicken or fish every day now. We celebrated by going out for dinner, for his first fries in a month! Now maybe he can start putting back some of the 14 lbs he lost in the last month. (and his...um...'other' restirctions are lifted too. YAAAAAAY)
2) Went to see 'Van Helsing'. Yummy and fun, but over the top in a few too many places. I actually cracked up in the theatre when the horse-drawn carriage jumped the broken bridge, and Rob had to shush me! And WHY do the villains always put the valuable artifact in the center of a well-lit room for the hero to find? If it was hidden under the old shoes in the closet, no one would ever find it!
3) Have to send Teddy on his way today. He's going to May Faire in Kalamazoo next. I didn't have time to make him anything except the Minstrosity T-shirt. Hell, I've not even gotten the second camera developed yet....
4) Well, we're halfway through OKRF, and while we're having fun, the travel is really starting to wear on us. This weekend, if flight 861 is true to form, we'll work a full day at the day-jobs, then travel and get in to Muskogee around 2:30 AM, be on-site 9AM to 10PM on Saturday, back on-site at 9 AM Sunday, work till 5:15 and then travel until 2AM Chicgao time. We're waaay to old to do this on a regular basis. If we get asked next year, we have to find a way to either fly in closer or get someone else to drive. (If Rob gets that management job in Lombard, he'll have F-S-S off every week, AND he only needs 3 hours sleep a night or so....)
5) Between day-job and the band, I am beat. Mondays are laundry and sleep. Tuesday evening is my only time with Rob. I've been bailing on Wednesday dinner-and-meetings with friends because I've been so tired. Thursday is rehearsal, and Friday-Sunday we're out of town. I am living on waaaay too much fast food, and I have a few 2-week-old dishes in the sink. The apartment smells a bit funny because of sweaty luggage and trash that needs taking out. My hamster has forgotten who I am. AND we've canceled rehearsal tonight so I can work some overtime on the 2-year-old files here at work. (Brownie points, extra money, a $20 dinner allowance and cab fare home if I work past 8)
I wanna go to sleep now.

Date: 2004-05-13 12:44 pm (UTC)Y'know.. that actually sounds like pretty good incentive to work a bit late... the combination of the three... heck, the cab home alone on a tired day is a good thing.
