tired of being damp

It's been three days now since we've seen the sun for more than an hour at a time, and it's expected to continue like this all week. My bathroom rug has been hanging up since the Sunday night leak from upstairs and it's still not dry. My fountain pen blots the damp paper. My left knee hurts. My sheets are clammy when I get into bed at night.

Maybe I should just grow gills and get it over with.
