The hell with my little problems.....

Everyone with fingers crossed for my unemployment luck, change in focus.

Hurricane Frances is headed straight for my Aunt and Uncle. They are in Port St. Lucie - draw a straight line from the tippy-top of Lake Okechobee (or however it's spelled) east towards the coast, and there they are. Or hopefully, there they were. My mother is calling around, trying to find out if they've had the sense to get out. So if we could re-dedicate those crossed digits to the safety of all in the path, (and selfishly for my relatives), I'd much appreciate it.

Now to try again to talk my mom out of moving to Florida in October....

UPDATE - Can't reach them or any of their friends by phone, but their answering machine is on and has a LOOOONG wait before you can leave a message, so we are assuming that they got out, and the machine is full of anxious calls from the rest of the family.

Hmmmm. That where a former co-worker moved to in April. I should email the folks at work and find out if they have heard from her. (She's been told that in case of an evauation order, she is one of the "mandated reporters" who must go to work and stay at work until it is all over. But her husband & son, and their dog & 2 cats, can't go with her.)

Lots of good thoughts headed that direction.
