Moody moody mood

Saturday I stayed home on baby-watch for a while, then gave up and went to Celtic Fest at Grant Park. Whenever I am in town, I love to go, as it is one of the few opportunities I get to just go and dance. At faires, I usually have to play for others to dance. I have a piece of caligraphy on my wall which reads "Hug A Musician - They Never Get To Dance". So I wandered about for a while, then straight to the ceilidh tent. Scottish country-danced until I was feet-trippy and sticky (which was WAAAY sooner than I wanted it to be - I have been such a sofa-slug these past few weeks) Then I sat in the vocal tent and listened to Song of The Lakes. I will definitely be acquiring a few of their CDs when money comes around.
Then off to Ogilve station and out to the burbs for the house-swarming. Chelle gets a bit obsessive about party-planning, so it was judged the better course of valor not to show up until about an hour before party-time. But it ended up quite a fun evening. Everyone was told not to bring booze, as they had more than enough, so EVERYBODY brought food. Everything from fried chicken to homemade butterscotch pudding (which I am told was even nummier spiked with a little rum). Chelle made boozy-smoothies ("Wow - these are yummy....and my tongue stings now"), so I switched to white wine after a while. Ari called in mid-party with baby-news, and I scribbled Breena's vital statistics on a handy paper napkin, then ran down to the basement and chased the computer-gamers off long enough to post the news. Mostly just sitting arund talking, though we did look through some of Chelle's catalogues [she has a home-party sex-toy business ]so the conversation was interspersed with "Ok, so what are you supposed to do with THAT?" and "Eww - it looks like a little bunny rabbit. That's just plain wrong...".
We all became pumpkin-shaped about 1-ish. Poor Rob - after all his liver issues, perhaps he shoudl have eased back into drinking like he used to. But after a good breakfast and some minor clean-up, we all went to see "Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow". It's not "Great Art", but any means, but it was fun escapist entertainment. Then dinner @ Subway and the train back home.
Turns out that I must have forgotten to take my 10-ride ticket with me when I got off the train on Friday, so I found myself on a Metra train with no ticket and $1.83 in my wallet! So I buried myself in my book, and thought very small and invisible thoughts all the way into the city, and no one ever asked for my ticket. Whew! I had my CTA pass with me, so I got home, but there was somebody in the western suburbs who got a lovely 6-ride ticket for free on Friday.
I had much fun over the weekend - why am I so grumpy? Meh.
