you need to see this

I just lost my job.

No warning. Just a "It's not working out".
(That's going to be a hell of a surprise for the ID department, the manager of which took me aside and complimented my work yesterday)

So here I am. A few PTO days plus today and that's it.
Insurance through the end of the month only. Guess I'd better max my credit cards refilling all my prescriptions before the end of the month.

We've got an album to pay for - how the hell are we going to do that now?
I was just starting to make headway on my debts from the LAST bout of unemployment - there isn't much room. And I have band travel expenses coming up - what the hell am I going to do about that?

Rent is paid thru end of March, as are phone, electric and gas, and internet through 6/1. I was able to zip most of the Minstrosity album cover files I had on the laptop and send them to myself - we'll see if they come in all right.

(And from WTMI radio - Ladies, my period is due tomorrow, so I'm already mood-swing-y, and this is ging to hit me like a ton of bricks)

Immediate concerns

  • refill scripts and schedule eye dr, dentist, and reg dr before the insurance runs out.

  • Update resume and start hitting the job boards

  • send letter to IRS- the financial statement I sent two weeks ago regarding my 2003 taxes will need to change.

  • Apply for unemployment

  • once amount is determined - apply for food stamps.

  • explain to kid brother that Birthday prezzie won't be coming, and that his wedding may be a problem.

  • Oh yes, and cry. Lots.

Rob is working tonight, but I left a msg with his roomie to call when he gets home. Told her what happened. Luckily he has lots of spare T-shirts - I suspect he's in for a lot of soggy shoulders for a while.

I need to translate the following things I did into neat resume phrases. I'm over-describing them, in case this generates any good buzzwords.

1) They used to type all the cards for memorial contributions by hand. Then re-type the info on to summary sheets. I set up Excel spreadsheets to enter the names, addresses and amounts, and a custom Word mail-merge to print the cards and envelopes with the appropriate information. This also let the bookeeper print out summary sheets for her weekly batching, and made it easier to track donations when people called and said that great-uncle Hubert had not gotten his 70th birthday card yet....

2) I designed nearly all the invitations, postcards, and flyers to come out of Income Development. While staying within branding guidelines. (Basically, I need a classier term than "mail pieces")

3) How does one say "patiently explained to the bookeeper on a weekly basis how it is not possible for her files to have 'disappeared'"

thanx.

Have refilled scripts - will have meds for 4-8 months depending. Have called IRS for new forms. Have requested reimbursements sufficient to close Flexible Spending Acct.
