"Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 Guilty Pleasures" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 Guilty Pleasures as well as state this rule. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names. "
Well, I refuse to tag anyone- if people want to play that's fine, but they cna do that on their own.
I have quite a few things that would normally qualify as "guilty pleasures", except for the fact that I refuse to feel guilty about them!

Jan. 17th, 2006 06:56 pmAs a performer, you touch many lives. You give of yourself, and sometimes it seems as if no one cares. But, all too rarely, someone touches you back, and you are both the better for it.

Jan. 17th, 2006 10:04 pmI really am the mail order queen. I HATE shopping for clothes. Yes, I sew, but I only sew the fun stuff - I'm really not motivated to sew slacks and blouses. So my working wardrobe tends to consist of slacks and sweaters - easy-care and easy-fit without being fussy. And when I find something that works, I buy several in different colors.
But I've been on a real post-holiday sale bargain spree lately.
I needed a new purse. My big old-lady black purse was okay for interviews - could carry lunch, shoes, and a folder of resumes. But the straps were just a little too short to stay on my shoulder, and a little too long to be comfy carrying by hand. And my next step was my black nylon backpack.
But Newport News had a blue leather messenger-bag style purse (easier for commuter) just about the right size - for $19.99! Added on a long silver chain/black/grey/wine bead necklace for $4.99. Both arrived today. I shortened the strap a touch, and am pondering some embellishment but may not get 'round to it.
AND I know that a lot of Torrid's stuff is kind of crappy. But I need a dressy short coat. I have my dress winter wool, but if it's warmer than that it's either a denim jacket, a barn coat, or a rubber raincoat. SCORE a short leather trench in metalic grey for $37! Added a couple of pieces of costume jewelry and I'm stylin...
