Running in circles and never getting anywhere.

Accountant skipped a digit in my direct deposit. Payroll Co swears it hasn't bounced. Chase swears it hasn't gotten there yet. I called, she called, I called her, she called me. I explained that waiting was NOT an acceptable option, so I am finally holding a check for my payroll amount and if a deposit suddenly shows up we will either reverse it or I will write the company a check.

I got trained on a new task at 1, and at 1:15 the pres came to ask me about something four or fve steps down the line. I blinked a lot, and managed an acceptable variation of "I don't know that yet" without actually saying "I have no idea what you are talking about, so may I just put my underpants on my head and sing a little song now?" I have until Friday to figure out enough about this to go to a meeting about it.

Oh, and the five places we are supposedly tracking membership renewals don't agree, but I figured out how and have come up with an average list that I think is correct. However, no one seems to have filed any membership paperwork since last September.

I filed a tech support request for admin access to a certain folder, and the IT guy sat at my desk, failed to understand what the problem was even after I mmoved the mouse for him (despite my writing all the error codes down in the first place) and in the process of being unable to fix the issue deleted all my settings and shortcuts.

*B*O*O*M*!!!

(that was the sound of my head exploding)

I'll just scurl up in some toilet paper and stuff sunflower seeds in my cheeks now, thanx...

I was digging thru my old gaming stuff, deciding what might fetch a few pence on e-bay and accepting that I have no need of copies of Dragon magazine from the early 1980s. I'll be posting some comics on E-bay and I'll also be putting up a list of scripts/librettos/'selections from's on here free for the taking. Well, free after postage, anyway.

But while separating out my photocopied manuals (keep) from my old character sheets (toss), I found some background stuff I'd written for a NOIR campaign. ([livejournal.com profile] that_david, I think you might have left town by this point) You got extra points for writing a backstory for your character, especially for one that set up some connections or vulnerabilities for your character for the GM to make use of.

Anyway, thought y'all might want to read something besides me complaining about my job, so...
