Did some work on the Minstrosi-sign last night. Managed to turn an "oops" into something really cool! I had originally planned to paint the top of the puffy paint with another color, but I bumped my elbow and got paint on the outside. Thinking quickly, I resolved to paint around ALL of the letters, to make a sort of "glow" effect. It really makes the letters POP out now - they are a deep blue with touches of outline pink surrounded by gold (metallic). Looks like something off a circus wagon! Now to come up with something from the scrap bin for an appropriate border...

All packed up for Duckon - I NEED a con this weekend. Was sick (asthma) on Tuesday, and the last few days I've had a couple of BIG orders to quote and track. Thanks to a recent change in our Dell rep and some screw-ups on the main call line, I've ended up working with 5 different people on this! All the quotes required multiple corrections, and of course there were the intermittent random calls and IMs from my boss "Why isn't this done yet?!?". I need a day to not be here.

At least the weather is cooler...

Apparently I am now a salaried employee (which I thought woudl be their response to the overtime issue). But don;t I have to actually agree to that kind of a change? and get some kind of notification as to what my salary actually is?

I have e-mailed in a request for documentation as well as for information on vacation and sick days and benefits. I know that the BCBS info will come from them but I have a Guardian card that I THINK is for dental but have received no actual info about it.

Very surreal afternoon

After spending most of yesterday babysitting a bunch of Dell quotes, I got approval to place most of the orders.

Close to $25,000 in virtual money passed through my hands this afternoon.

Yeah, it's Friday night at a con and I'm bored.

To be fair, it is that awkward hour between dinner and parties, so there isn't much around. Saw evil_phoenix briefly in the lobby but I had my arms full of luggage at the time. Opening ceremonies seemed heavy on the Stupid Klingon Jokes when I peered in (though there is a Birds of Prey group here that could be cool), and the consuite is pretty empty. So I came back to my room to poke around online, drink Mountain Dew, and wait for something interesting to happen.

If nothing else I will go to the "Randomly Randy" reading at 9. Reading randim lines from romancenovels and Shakespeare. Last time I saw this it was a New Year's Eve party and we ended up with five people in bed with a horse.

Got our schedule for WiRen in July. THREE shows a day, plus closing. *snores* Guess I'd best go looking for a new man-fishing pole, or I'ma gonna fall asleep mid-day!
